Who am i traveling with? Will they be screened prior?

Mae (of course!), her husband Pete, who will help coordinate trip logistics, as well as all other group trip participants. Based on survey and past trip demographics, about 75-80% of participants are expected to be women in the 20s-30s age range, passionate in self-improvement and novel experiences.

Your safety is our top priority. We conduct background checks to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Every participant is expected to follow our community guidelines. There will also be onsite staff throughout the entire group trip. If anyone is found to have violated community guidelines or our terms in a way that compromises the safety of the trip, they will be asked to leave immediately with no refund. In severe cases, remedies may include coordination with local law enforcement and legal action.

What kind of activities will we be doing?

A full itinerary and schedule is provided for the entire trip. in addition to the itinerary provided, which includes excursions and travel plans. There will also be some opportunities for group yoga and meditation, prompted group and solo journaling, swimming and snorkeling, dance parties, plus plenty of time to get to know Mae and your fellow travelers.
You may skip excursions and activities if you’d like to do something else. We ask that you give us advance notice so that we can provide accurate head counts to our tour operators, as required by law in Greece.

How physical are the activities?

Moderate. Expect about 10-20k steps a day, light hikes, dancing, stairs in cliffside areas, water activities (optional), group yoga (optional), ATV or scooter rental (optional). There will be no endurance or high-intensity events. Anyone with average mobility will be able to manage.

I am new to travel. Is this trip beginner-friendly?

Yes! All we ask is a willingness to show up curious and ready to grow.
As we are meeting in Athens, we will do our best to guide you towards reaching us safely. We remain available should you have any questions, or if any issues arise during travel.
The structure of the group trip is built for mixed experience levels. There is no skill requirement.

Do I need travel insurance / visa / passport?

Travel insurance is not required, but highly recommended. Medical and cancellation coverage protects you and the group in case anything comes up, e.g unexpected travel delays, etc.
As for visa requirements, please check with your country’s official visa requirements for the EU / Greece. You are responsible for securing all valid travel documents, including passport and visa, prior to travel.

Can I come solo?

Yes! This trip is perfect for you. Most of our past travelers booked solo and made friends on day one.

What are the rooming arrangements like?

Shared rooms, unless you get a private upgrade. The cheapest option will be to come as a double (bring a friend or family) or as a couple. Otherwise, room assignments will be based on compatibility. If there are specific requests within reason, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Will I be able to connect with fellow group trippers prior to the trip, or speak with past participants?

Yes! We will let you know your roommate assignment (if applicable) and put everyone in touch on a group chat before the trip.

If you’d like to speak with a past trip participant for feedback and questions, email us at trip@maealicesuzuki.com.

What is the payment schedule / refund policy?

There are two payment installments; The initial deposit of $500, and then the remaining balance shortly after. Flexible plans are available (Please inquire via email!). One deposit per person.

This schedule safeguards our commitment to our local operators and allows everyone plenty of time to purchase flights and make arrangements.
Participants are required to fulfill their payment plan prior to joining the trip.

Payments are nonrefundable, except in the event that the group trip is cancelled on the organizer’s end and other reasons stated in our terms & conditions.

Which airport do i fly into?

Please fly into Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (ATH). If you’re meeting us on Day 1, we will let you know exactly which ferry we’re taking so that you can book tickets accordingly. If you are joining us from Day 2 onwards, you may also fly directly to Santorini Airport, then take the ferry directly to Ios.

We ask that you do not book flight/ferry arrangements until receiving confirmation to do so in Spring 2026, which should allow you ample time to plan and book for the fairest ticket prices. Depending on where you’re traveling from, you may have to hop on flights with potential layovers. When booking flights, we ask that you allow enough time to make these connections (We recommend at least 2 hours between flights) so that you can get to your connecting flight promptly.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Your dietary needs can be accommodated within reason; Greece handles vegetarian, pescatarian, and dairy-light diets easily. Stricter requests require advance notice.
